Dr. Dan Bishop is a Senior Lecturer in Sport & Exercise Psychology and a Chartered Psychologist (BPS) registered to practise with the HCPC. With a diverse career spanning academia, health, finance, and fitness, he has applied psychological principles to enhance individual and organizational performance across industries.

As the Director of Research for The Bikeability Trust, his work focuses on demonstrating the efficacy of Bikeability cycle training and exploring the role of immersive cycle training in skill development. His research aims to improve young cyclists' ability to navigate real-world cycling environments safely and confidently.

Beyond his academic and research contributions, Dr. Dan Bishop is an avid advocate for physical activity and sustainable transport. His passion for movement extends to his own life—after a personal knee rehabilitation journey, he completed a parkrun in 21 minutes at 48 years old, proving the power of smart training and resilience.

He is also the author of Motivation: The Manual (available on Amazon), which explores the science behind motivation and performance.
